This class covers all things relating to cesarean birth, including the option of Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC). Approximately one third of birthing people will have a cesarean, often unexpectedly. Whether you have a medical condition that warrants a scheduled cesarean, hope to avoid a cesarean but want to be prepared for all possible birth outcomes, or you have already had a cesarean and are considering VBAC for your next birth, this class is for you!

We will cover:

  • the procedure itself

  • the choices you have, even in the case of an unexpected surgical birth

  • family-centered cesarean

  • how to increase your chances for a successful VBAC- whether you have not yet had a cesarean and want to be aware of the options for the future (yes, there are decisions you can make in your primary cesarean to increase your chances for a VBAC the next time) or you have had a cesarean and are considering VBAC for your current pregnancy

  • immediate recovery in the hospital and what to expect with healing while caring for your baby when you return home

While all class topics will be covered, time spent on each will be tailored to the needs of the families registered.
