Crafting your birth plan is more than just a checklist—it's your opportunity to clarify what matters most to you and create a vital tool for communicating your needs and preferences with your birth team. Join this workshop and leave with a thoughtfully drafted plan that ensures your voice is heard, from pregnancy through labor.
Research shows that the best predictor of labor outcome is not individual physiologic or health conditions, but rather the Provider! In other words, having a doctor or midwife who understands your values, needs, and desires and is willing to support you fully in them is critical in having the birth experience that works best for you. This class will help you to understand how to communicate effectively with your health care providers, including your OB or midwifery team, labor & delivery nurses, doula, and even family and friends who may be providing labor support. In addition, you will learn the red flags that may be signifying it’s time to switch providers.
Prerequisite: Birthing 101, or another comprehensive birth class, or having given birth before
