Sabrina found her calling for birth work after the birth of her first child in 1996. She became certified as a birth doula through DONA in 2000, and worked as a birth and postpartum doula. She became a certified birth educator in 2001, teaching childbirth preparation (and infant/child CPR classes) at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kaiser, and Blossom Birth. After becoming a mother of twins, Sabrina switched gears, training in sex and relationship coaching and becoming a certified medical assistant. After a time, Sabrina realized her true passion was helping mothers and families through the first days and weeks. Although Sabrina has worked as a postpartum doula for many years and is a mother of four herself, she is in the process of certifying as postpartum doula through DONA. She is also a certified massage therapist.
When Sabrina is not studying or cuddling a newborn, you can find her crafting (yarn, fabric or paper), and eating ice cream in the hot tub. One day, she will lease a horse again so she can resume riding.
Sabrina is known for her empathetic, non-judgemental care. She is passionate about finding routines that work for the family, and getting new parents rest and “unicorn time.” She has a flexible approach: have something that is already working? Plug her into that routine. Need to create a process or learn a new skill? She can help you on your way. Sabrina will be a great help in easing the transition to a family (or larger family) by preparing your home prenatally and with postpartum care.
