Our Story
Building a nest for new families
Founder and Birth Doula Caren Hespeler opened The Nesting Spot inspired by her own start as a parent over 20 years ago. The friendships she made in a new moms’ group are still an important part of her life today.
As more of parenthood has moved online, The Nesting Spot was created to offer something different: a real place for South Bay families to gather, learn and feel supported by experienced local birth and parenting professionals.
Why in person
Parenthood happens in real life
A lot of life has moved online. Parenthood shouldn’t have to. Our classes and groups put you in a room with people at the same stage, and the friendships often outlast the class.
How we teach
Evidence-informed, never clinical
Our practitioners bring years of hands-on experience and current evidence, explained in plain language. Every question is welcome, and we keep adding classes based on what families ask for.
We welcome ALL families, including LGBTQ+, single-parent, adoptive, foster and surrogacy families, however your baby arrives and however you feed.
